Unit 6 Review: Numbers, Time, and Calendar
In this review lesson, you will practice everything you’ve learned about numbers, telling time, and talking about days and months in Italian!
Numbers (I Numeri)
Numbers are essential for prices, ages, and time. Remember that uno becomes un before masculine nouns (like un gatto) and una before feminine nouns (like una casa).
Telling Time (Che ora è?)
To ask the time, use «Che ora è?» or «Che ore sono?». For one o’clock, we say «È l’una». For all other hours, use «Sono le…» (e.g., Sono le tre).
Days of the Week (I Giorni della Settimana)
Days of the week in Italian start with lowercase letters: lunedì, martedì, mercoledì, giovedì, venerdì, sabato, domenica.
Common Mistakes
- Mistake: Saying *Sono l’una* for 1:00.
Correction: Always use È l’una because it is singular. - Mistake: Capitalizing days like English.
Correction: Write lunedì, not Lunedì.
