Unit 8 Review: Shopping & Clothing

Welcome to the Unit 8 review! In this lesson, you will practice everything you have learned about talking about clothes, colors, prices, and using demonstratives like questo (this) and quello (that).

1. Clothing & Colors

Clothing items agree in gender and number. Colors usually follow the noun and also agree in gender and number. For example:

• la camicia blu (the blue shirt)
• i pantaloni neri (the black pants)

2. Prices

To ask about prices, use Quanto costa? (How much does it cost?) for singular items or Quanto costano? (How much do they cost?) for plural items. Use costa for singular and costano for plural.

3. Demonstratives (This / That)

Use questo for ‘this’ (masculine singular) and questa for ‘this’ (feminine singular). In the plural, use questi (masculine) and queste (feminine).

Common Mistake: Do not mix up singular and plural forms of verbs with prices. Say Quanto costa? for one item, but Quanto costano? for multiple items!
