Italiano A1A16. Unit 6: Numbers and Time

Mastering Numbers 21 to 100 in Italian

Counting above 20 in Italian is easy once you know the tens and units! You simply combine the ten with the single digit. However, there is a special rule when combining with uno (1) and otto (8): you drop the last vowel of the ten.

The Tens in Italian

Combining Tens and Units

Take the ten, drop the vowel if the unit starts with a vowel (like 1 or 8), and attach the unit.
